The question is not really avoided, but no one really seems to answer it. What does the bible say about baptism? Some do it for babies, kids or adults. Some sprinkle, pour or immerse. Some do it for membership, salvation or not at all. But what does Jesus say about it? Today we wade through the mess and get to the heart of the matter.

Modern Parent – Part 2 – SERIES: Modern Family (6/03/2012)

Posted on June 3rd, by dhamilton in Listen, The Church. No Comments

Every parent has those moments that we wish could erase forever from our child’s memory (6/03/2012). Those moments that you fear you may have just damaged your child. The reality is, most of us are out there doing this alone and it’s a frightening venture and it only gets harder. This week, Kent gives us some encouragement that we can raise children who will make it to and through the teenage years with success! Be sure to listen to the message and take to heart the biblical principles that he unpacks!

If you have been encouraged by Kent’s messages, we would encourage you to join Epic in helping people connect to God one person at a time by partnering with us through an online contribution!

I have had such a hard time writing sermons since losing my dad. It’s hard to explain, but I just don’t feel like I have a lot to offer right now. I’m just so thankful for a church that loves me and a God that fills in the blanks where I’m not strong enough to do it myself. It’s been a little over a month since I talked to my dad for the last time and I’m as heart broken as ever.

I am believing today in Jesus’ words that those who mourn will be blessed, because they will be comforted…

Longing

Posted on July 24th, by epic in Uncategorized. No Comments

Have you ever gone through a time with God where you feel like you are distant from him? I was reading Jeremiah 24 tonight where God talks about sending Israel into exile with the Babylonians. He says this in vs 7:

I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.

God is speaking of when the Israelites return to Him. It reminded me that sometimes we feel as far from God as any one person could feel. But God is working and repurposing our experience to draw us even closer into His embrace!

Feeling worn out and far off, dont give up! God is on the other side o this and in the midst!
